This Privacy Policy explains how the developer of Bill Tick ("we", "us") handles your information in the Bill Tick mobile application (the "App"). By using the App you agree to this policy.
We collect nothing. The App stores all of your data locally on your device, using an on-device database (drift/SQLite) for your bills, categories, and payment history, and local device storage for your settings. We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal information. The App makes no network calls of its own: adding, tracking, and getting reminded about bills and subscriptions works exactly the same with or without an internet connection.
Your data never leaves your device except where you explicitly export or back it up yourself: the App's Settings > Data screen lets you save a backup file or export a CSV of your payment history to a location you choose on your own device or cloud storage (via Android's standard file picker). We never see, receive, or have any access to these files.
If you add the Bill Tick home screen widget, the App writes a small snapshot of what the widget shows (a few upcoming bill names, amounts, and dates) to its own local storage on the same device, so Android can draw the widget without opening the App. That snapshot never leaves the device either.
Bill Tick offers one optional one-time in-app purchase ("Unlock Bill Tick") that lifts the free bill limit and lets each bill carry its own reminder schedule. This purchase is processed entirely by Google Play Billing. We do not receive or store your payment card details or any other payment information. Google's handling of your purchase is governed by the Google Play Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy.
The App stores only a local flag on your device indicating whether the unlock has been purchased. You can restore a previous purchase at any time via Settings, which uses Google Play to verify it - no account or personal data of ours is involved.
The App does not use analytics services, advertising networks, crash reporting, or any third-party tracking. There are no ads anywhere in the App. There is no account, no sign-in, and no profile: every feature works without one.
Bill Tick uses local, on-device notifications to remind you about upcoming and overdue bills. These reminders are scheduled and shown entirely on your device using Android's notification and alarm systems; nothing about your bills is sent anywhere to generate them.
The App requests the following device permissions, each solely to make reminders work:
POST_NOTIFICATIONS) - to
show bill reminders.SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM) -
so reminders fire at the precise time you configured, not an approximate
window. If you do not grant it, reminders still fire, just less
precisely, and the App says so in Reminder Health.RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED) - to re-arm your scheduled
reminders after your device restarts. Those three are the complete list. The App's Reminder Health screen also reads whether Android has been restricting Bill Tick in the background, so it can tell you when reminders are at risk, but it only reports what it finds: it never requests an exemption from battery optimisation and never changes a system setting for you. Any change is one you make yourself, in Android's own settings.
The App does not request access to your contacts, location, camera, microphone, or any other sensitive device data, and it has no access to your bank account or any financial institution.
Three places in the App hand you over to another app on your device: the Privacy policy row opens this page in your browser, the Send feedback row opens your email app with our address filled in, and Google Play may show its own in-app review prompt. Nothing about your bills is attached to any of them, and what happens after you leave is governed by that other app's own policy.
The App is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children - the App does not collect personal information from anyone, of any age.
Because your data is stored only on your device, uninstalling the App removes all of it. Inside the App you stay in control of your own copy: Settings > Data can restore from a backup file, which replaces everything currently stored, and any individual bill can be archived or deleted from its own details screen. There is no remotely stored copy of your data for us to delete, because we never receive one.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above. The current version is always available at this same URL.
